Cannes Film Festival is the most important film festival in the world. It also has a long-standing history of bringing together the most glamorous figures in the film and fashion industry. Every summer, South of France is transformed as a playground for movie stars from Jane Birkin to Sophia Loren. The red carpet sizzles with celebrities such as Marion Cotillard and Julianne Moore, where they brought their fashion A-game on the famous Cannes Film Festival steps.

This year’s festival has seen stars experimenting with their looks from floor sweeping gowns to more contemporary number. Blake Lively is the belle of the ball. Lively was busy promoting two of her films in Cannes, “Café Society’ and ‘The Shallows’ as well as doing red carpet rounds as a L’oreal Global Ambassador. The pregnant actress took maternity wear into new heights donning one of a kind creations from a body hugging Atelier Versace number to Disney inspired Vivienne Westwood gown.

Cannes Film Festival regulars Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts kept it fresh each year. Both stars looked like a vision in custom-made Armani Prive gown.  Kirsten Dunst made her return to the red carpet steps and made some savvy sartorial choices while promoting her film ‘Neon Demon’. Her most memorable look is the canary-yellow old Hollywood gown designed by John Galliano for Maison Margiela.

Newcomer Bella Heathcote, Riley Keough and Elle Fanning looked like fashion darlings as they showcased contemporary looks from Bella’s short and sweet Armani Prive dress to Riley’s chartreuse and purple Gucci gown.

Other notable faces that made an impact on Cannes Film Festival red carpet are Julliane Moore, Charlize Theron and supermodel Kate Moss and Kendall Jenner. See the other best-dressed celebrities in the image gallery above.
